Career

Bill Wheeler trained at what was known as Cardiff College of Art. He became a full time professional artist in 1989 and since then has held numerous "one-man" and joint exhibitions of his paintings in venues such as:-

The National Museum of Wales, The Rhondda Heritage Park (featured on HTV's programme "Primetime"), Taliesyn Art Gallery, Swansea, University of Aberystwyth, Turner House Gallery, Penarth,St David's Hall, cardiff, Oriel contemporary Art Gallery, Primrose Hill, London. Nash's Art Gallery, Auburn, USA, plus many more....

William Wheeler has held many successful workshops and demonstrations including demonstrating at the Artists'and Illustrators' Exhibition in London. He travels all over the British Isles, demonstrating to Art Societies.

Recently, Derwent Pencils commissioned William Wheeler to produce a painting of Derwent Water using watercolour pencils, which is to be used on their Nostalgia Box. This is being manufacured to celebrate 50 years of producing pencils. Two of his pictures are being used on this box.

William Wheeler is well known for his regular contributions to the art magazine "Leisure Painter" and he is also recognised as a highly respected tutor of holiday courses in the UK and in Holland.
