Career | The artist-painter Chitra Ramanathan has recently completed a major commission for the MGM Mirage Group for refurbishment of the Cafe Bellagio inside the Conservatory/Botanical Garden of the Hotel Bellagio located in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. (PRWEB) JAnuary 15, 2005-- The U.S.-based artist and painter Chitra Ramanathan has recently completed a commission which entailed creating two paintings each measuring four feet by six feet in dimension for the MGM Mirage Group's Cafe Bellagio refurbishment in Las Vegas, Nevada. These two new works have been displayed permanently in the interior of the Cafe Bellagio as of October 2004 after remodelling was completed. The new paintings are based on Chitra's 1998 and 2000 originals titled "A MOMENTARY GLANCE", and "CORUSCATION" respectively, which in turn were selected by the MGM Mirage from one of the websites featuring Chitra Ramanathan's mostly large-scale, colourful and textural signature paintings. Chitra Ramanathan has held several solo and group exhibitions of her paintings on Broadway, New York since 1995, and her work has been acquired through the worldwide web for collections around the United States and in Europe. An academically trained successful professional artist, Chitra Ramanathan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with honours, and a Masters degree in Business Administration both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. Several websites feature her biography as well as images of her colorful, often large scale, mixed media acrylic,abstract paintings in her signature style. She is a Services to Artists Committee Member of the College Art Association of America, based in New York City. Chitra is an educator and is a Painting Faculty member at the Indianapolis Art Center, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
