Sonia Leong - artist

I'm a professional freelance artist and illustrator specialising in the Anime/Manga style and comic artwork. I'm a core member of Sweatdrop Studios, the leading UK comic collaborative.

I work in a variety of mediums including watercolour, pen & ink, screentone, alcohol colour markers, pencils and computer software.

I've released several comics and attended events in the UK and abroad where I've displayed artwork, provided product demonstrations on behalf of Copic, Letraset and Wacom and given presentations on manga creation. My art has featured in manga-related publications, events, websites and magazines internationally.

My competition achievements include:

Winner in NEO Magazine's 2005 Manga Competition
Joint Judge (Character Design) of the International Manga and Anime Festival 2005
2nd Place Winner of Tokyopop's first UK Rising Stars of Manga competition.

My work is appearing in several how-to-draw publications and an upcoming British movie, Popcorn. I am currently working on a full-length graphic novel.
