Boat - Batik - Old Forge Art Studio
Boat

Batik making short courses are held all year round at The Old Forge Art Studio in lovely rural Lincolnshire, a few miles from beautiful beaches and the picturesque Wolds.

Join our one, two or three day courses and learn the fascinating techniques of Batik. During the course the students will learn basic batik techniques and have the opportunity to use their own designs and ideas if they wish.

  • One day allows the student to experiment using hot wax, brushes and cantings (wax pens), coloured dyes and different fabrics to quickly gain confidence.
  • Two and three days allow the student to develop the techniques further whilst creating stunning artworks that can be framed or card mounted, together with a hand decorated silk scarf.

At the end of the course the students will take home the skill to make a variety of beautiful and interesting works of art which can be made into wall hangings, cushions and scarves.

Small groups ensure individual attention therefore courses are suitable for complete beginners and people with some experience. Students can choose to attend for 1,2 or 3 days with their own level of experience deciding what can be achieved in the number of days chosen.
