Situated by the crooked Church of Cwmyoy in the dramatic countryside of the Black Mountains, is the recently established, Downey Barn Gallery. The new and unusual collection of work by Caroline Downey is on display and available for sale. Work includes original paintings of mixed mediums. Prints etc. Her uniquely styled "Sculptured Board" paintings proving very popular - see winning Picture of the Daler-Rowney Worldwide Golden Jubilee Painting Competition. Enjoy a visit, meet the artist and capture the rural atmosphere of this charming "traditional barn" gallery perched on the hillside amid landscaped gardens. Decorative contemporary ironwork, gates, furniture, etc. made to your own design by Peter Downey. There are examples on show. Opening Times: Open most days. Telephone if making a special journey to avoid disappointment. Directions: Follow signs off main A465 road, Hereford to Abergavenny at Pandy. Turn off towards Llanthony. Follow the signs to Cwmyoy (2 miles), then turn right by the Queen's Head Inn and continue for a further 1.5 miles to the village. Downey Barn Gallery, in Cwmyoy Village, is located on a loop road off the only route in the Llanthony Valley. Travelling 15 miles from Hay on Wye (over mountains), the loop road turning is unmarked!
