| The Hilliard Society of Miniaturists |
| Background | The Hilliard Society was formed in May 1982 and currently has about 200 artists and friend members worldwide. The declared aim of the society is to encourage greater recognition of this art form, with an appreciation of its history and contemporary development, and to bring it to the wider attention of all artists and to the public. We hold an annual exhibition in Wells, Somerset, and other exhibitions may be held from time to time. The Hilliard is a very sociable and friendly society but because our membership is so widespread we do not have regular weekly or monthly meetings. A weekend of activities always takes place at the time of the exhibition opening, and occasionally group visits and outings are also planned.
